Everything but the Girl - Before Today - 1996

  1. Walking Wounded is a 1996 album by Everything but the Girl, their ninth studio release. It is their highest charting album to date, reaching number 4 in the UK and number 37 in the US.
This was the first album in which the group adopted a more electronic and dance style after the success of the remixed version of "Missing" from their previous album, Amplified Heart. The album's cover art (see photo) is unusual in that it features an album's barcode on both the front and back of the album.
Several tracks from the album were released as singles, including 'the cinematic drum 'n' bass-pop crossover' "Walking Wounded" (number 6 on the Top 40), the 'thumping house' "Wrong" (number 8 on the Top 40), and the downtempo "Single" that set Thorn's emotionally direct vocal against breakbeats, organ and strings.
The album was reissued by Edsel Records as a 2-CD deluxe set in 2015.
The album was included in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.

  2. Everything but the Girl (sometimes described as EBTG) were an English musical duo, formed in Hull in 1982, consisting of lead singer and occasional guitarist Tracey Thorn and guitarist, keyboardist, producer and singer Ben Watt. Everything But The Girl have received eight gold, and two platinum album BPI Certifications in the UK, and one gold album RIAA Certification in the US. They had four top ten singles and twelve top forty singles in the UK. Their biggest hit song "Missing" charted high in several countries and reached number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1995.
They are currently inactive, although vocalist Tracey Thorn hinted that they may perform again someday. They have not performed publicly since 2000.
Watt and Thorn are also a couple; they are very private about their relationship and personal life. For some time, it was not a publicised fact that they were a couple, or that they had married subsequently.

  3. No quiero excusas.
    No quiero tus sonrisas
No quiero sentir que estamos separados miles de millas.
    No quiero tu actitud.
    No quiero tus cosas.
Pero no quiero un teléfono que nunca suena.
Quiero tu amor y lo quiero ahora.
Quiero tu amor y lo quiero ahora.
    No quiero tu historia.
    No quiero esas cosas.
    Quiero que cierres la boca.
    Eso sería suficiente.
No me importa si has estado aquí antes.
    Usted no entiende.
    quiero tu amor.
