New Order's fifth studio album, released in January 1989 and their last album released on Factory. Recorded on Ibiza and in Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios. The album adds Balearic Beat and Acid House influences to the band's typical blend of electronic and rock. The cover is another Peter Saville (2)/Trevor Key cooperation, using a garden ornament cherub statue.
The first New Order album to reach number one in the UK charts. Several tracks were individually released as singles. An instrumental version of "Vanishing Point" was used on the BBC series Making Out.
In 2008 the album was re-released as 2xCD Collector's Edition set, with the bonus disc containing non-album singles, 12" mixes and b-sides.
How can I ever forget you? You don't know just what I've been through The holiday we spent together Lives with me now and forever I tried but I can't find you Tell me now, what do I do? I tried but I can't find you Tell me now, what do I do?
I can't find my peace of mind Because I need you with me all of the time I used to think about you night and day I used to feel what language cannot say Oh, I can't find you No, I can't find my peace of mind without you
Maybe you would write me a letter And tell me why I never met you Our rendezvous just ended in sorrow Without you there's no tomorrow
I tried but I can't find you Tell me now, what do I do? I tried but I can't find you Tell me now, what do I do? I can't find my peace of mind Because I need you with me all of the time I used to think about you night and day I didn't care what other people would say Oh, I can't find you No, I can't find my peace of mind without you
